  • Ignoring the “giant orbs that oscillate generating energy fields” for the moment, the geology of the Revell batholith has never had anything to do with any “surface connection to liquid magma”. The Revell batholith is known to have formed about 2.7 BILLION years ago, by liquid magma intruding into Greenstone that was already in place since over another billion years earlier. That intrusion of liquid magma never reached the surface:  It occurred several kilometers BELOW THE SURFACE of the existing Greenstone, which itself was at the base of a shallow sea. If the intrusion of liquid magma had not stopped deep below surface, it simply would not have become granite. Greenstone on the other hand, forms by direct contact of liquid magma with seawater, solidifying as the well-known “pillow lava”, eventually ...

  • The authors, Melgund Recreation, Arts and Culture, make the dubious claim that their “submission is submitted by and on behalf of residents in Melgund Township and local peoples”. However, the IAAC and its Tailored Impact Statement Guidelines (TISG) should be made aware that Melgund Township never held any sort of vote on NWMO’s proposed DGR project at the Revell site, and that therefore any claim by Melgund Recreation, Arts and Culture of a “submission is submitted by and on behalf of residents in Melgund Township and local peoples” must be seen as a bogus attempt at achieving a nonexistent public representation. As a matter of fact, a resident of Dyment (a hamlet in Melgund Township) who is a steadfast opponent of the DGR project, proclaimed in no uncertain terms that “most of the people here are for it”

  • Concerns Regarding the Summary of Issues prepared by the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada regarding the NWMO Proposal for a Deep Geological Repository for High-Level Nuclear Waste (HLW) Prepared by the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War Canada April 18, 2026. The summary of issues has included many of the concerns that we have previously shared with by email, Feb 2, 2026 in response to your call for public comment. We applaud that you have included the challenge of transportation among the issues you have asked the NWMO to address. The summary is silent on the need for an independent public health assessment of this important project. To refresh our concern on this matter, I will repeat, below, what we have previously shared. In addition, we continue to be concerned as to how the amount of waste that will be stored at this facility will be capped at the level that is proposed. Given the accelerating expansion of the nuclear ...

  • The April 10 draft package makes an important correction to NWMO’s earlier effort to treat off-site transportation as external to the project. The draft integrated tailored impact statement guidelines now require that “transportation of both nuclear and non-nuclear materials outside of the project site” be included among the project components and activities considered in the Impact Statement, and they state that project-related transportation has the potential to result in adverse effects within areas of federal jurisdiction. That change should be retained in the final guidelines. What the package does not yet do is say clearly enough what follows from that change.

Comments invited on the draft Integrated Tailored Impact Statement Guidelines and the draft Public Participation Plan by May 10, 2026 Importance: Normal Sensitivity: None To, Nuclear waste I don’t understand why there is a need to use nuclear energy. When there are greener options. Denmark is a fantastic example of a country that runs on green energy. Why are we not mining for metal to build windmills or hydroelectric dams or solar panels? That have far less of a negative impact on our planet. These alternatives to nuclear energy well will create jobs for people. I really hope that our country can set an example to the rest of the world on how to run efficiently on green energy. From, Katherine Dwight On Fri, Apr ...
