From a seven generations perspective of sustainability and resource use, this is not a nescessary project and will cause more damage to the ecosystems of Nova Scotia than it will benefit the settlers or indigenous people of Nova Scotia. There is no need for gold in the world or canada or nova scotia. It's not critical to the function of future sustainable technologies and green technologies. The impacts far outweigh the benefits.
Destruction of habitats and distruption of natural systems that sustain people and wildlife without full consent of indigenous rights holders is a treaty violation.
This company/operator has a previous history of violating the terms of their operating conditions and of convictions under existing laws. They should not be trusted to operate mines in Nova Scotia.
Any mines should be locally operated with all profits and benefits staying in community and in province between the settlers and the mi'kmaq instead of going offshore to to international shareholders and to further enrich the already wealthy.- Submitted by
