River Road and First Street Restoration
April 27, 2026 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed River Road and First Street Restoration, located in Tobique First Nation, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project
The project will include roadway reconstruction and drainage upgrades along River Road and First Street. This includes a total length of 514m of roadway reconstruction, installation of new storm sewer infrastructure, ditch grading, with stormwater improvements consisting of both a potential extension of the existing storm sewer system and the construction of a new storm sewer network and outflow pipe. Options are being considered for the outflow.
